10 core factors of THE RK INJECTOR breakthrough technology.

 

The RK Injector (RKI) is a breakthrough and paradigm shift in fuel injection technology. Here are the core features and the wider possibilities.

1. It is a self-pressurised injector interacting with the compression in the combustion chamber to initiate its injection. 

2.  An innovative nozzle design multiplies the initial combustion chamber pressure within the injector and forces the fuel into the combustion chamber at significantly higher pressure through hundreds of tiny holes, 1 thou diameter.

3. The unique breakthrough in fuel injection technology is a self-pressurising injector that interacts with the pressure in the combustion chamber, allowing fuel to be injected at a much higher pressure (5000+ bar) in hundreds of tiny droplets, creating the optimal conditions for combustion.  These optimal mixing conditions facilitate a much more complete combustion, dramatically reducing both particulate and NOX emissions.

4. The low lubricity requirements of the RKI technology, coupled with the low temperature combustion characteristics makes a whole range of new “fuels of the future” technically viable and economically competitive in a wide range of applications.

 

5. This atomisation of the fuel particles improves the mixing of the air and fuel in the combustion chamber, optimises the fuel burning conditions, at a lower temperature and compression pressure within the combustion chamber. 

6. Efficient combustion taking place at a lower pressure virtually eliminates the NOx emissions. We call this our Blue Flame Technology - this is the paradigm shift in fuel injection technology. The key to cleaning up diesel emissions at its highest level in heavy duty, commercial applications.

 

7. Since the RKI has a natural relationship with the pressure in the combustion chamber by taking its initial signal to inject from the pressure in the combustion chamber, it is able to inject only the precise amount of fuel needed. Thus, optimising the rate of fuel injection, never over fuelling or potentially wasting fuel. 

8. This natural relationship with the compression chamber also creates the ability to electronically control the RKI, through the existing solenoid valves technology. Along with improved diagnostic tools to monitor and control the combustion process.

9. The more complete combustion within the RK injector delivers the three main benefits: better fuel economy, reduction in particulate emissions and the reduction in NOx  

10. RKLAB has applied for a full suite of patents internationally. As the technology develops we aim to add to this family of patents and extend the reach of intellectual property protection beyond the fuel injection system.

The RKI technology engine manufactures to replace the Common Rail diesel fuel injection system with a simpler, cheaper, and much more effective injection and combustion system.

The RK Injector can help users, operators and manufacturers save on costs with its more efficient fuel delivery system.

 

Another benefit of this technology is that it is a direct replacement for the common rail fuel injection system, reducing the need for post combustion cleanup hardware. Allowing significant reduction in cost, space and weight to a vehicle, with a 15% or more fuel efficiency improvement.

This allows engine manufactures to replace the Common Rail diesel fuel injection system with a simpler, cheaper, and much more effective injection and combustion system.

The engine also runs at lower temperatures, and with less structural stress on the engine, making a wider range of engine component materials and less heat protection materials able to be used.

The injector can also be retrofitted into existing engines as well as new engines, so we are making it possible to start reducing emissions and increase margins for existing fleets and end users.
